TIME to raise a toast again. Some weeks
ago we noted that the MID-DAY Good Food Guide to Mumbai
had topped the Crossword bestsellers list in the non-fiction
category.
Now the news is that the Good Food Guide has been on the
all India Bestsellers list since the time it was out.
A monthly national list of bestselling books compiled
for India Today by ORGMARG based on data from retail outlets
in six cities puts the Good Food Guide at Number 7. The
author Rashmi Uday Singh is elated because the book has
remained on the bestseller list ever since it was out
in October and has been reviewed and raved about by every
major publication in the country. And this is commendable
as the book is solely about Mumbai and the placec to eat
out in the city.
Incidentally, Singh is already deep into the updated 1998
version, which will be out in a few months. It is going
to be more comprehensive, bigger and better, she says.
And, needless to say, a bestseller too. |
