Sichuan province, Beijing, Shanghai, Hangzhoou…Ive eaten my way through  China. But this is the first time I taste Teochew cuisine and with it all the luxurious trimmings. Birds nest, foie gras with sake, suckling pig with black truffle   gracious service, flamboyance of flowers, huge wine cellar…. Luxury is getting redefined, in Singapore’s Crystal Jade Golden Palace. And coddling us in this Michelin starred Chinese restaurant, is  the dapper knowledgable Vispi Patel who’s been associated with   global luxury past twenty years and navigates us through the Singapore’s food meccas. From Asia’s best restaurant Odette, the British Jaan by Kirk W to the Peranakan Candlenut, hawker centres and ofcourse Singapores famous crabs. Service in Singapore is always below par but here in the crown jewel of Crystal Jade Chef Leung Siu Ho , Chamise Lui, Charlotte Ang and Christina Han are the epitome of graciousness.
